This week’s Describe *** as a Scent article takes a look at an aroma which is one of the most familiar scents in the world - or is it? We all *think* we know what coffee smells like but, as a perfumer, there are so many different nuances to pick out of the accessory note coffee.

In this article, we are going to take a look at those different nuances and then I am going to teach you how to get started with making different coffee-based scents (not always with the use of coffee itself) through scent prompts. Mix up your gourmand-based fragrances with some different coffee notes! You’ll be surprised at how many different variations you can make - without using an actual coffee essence.

"I’d rather take coffee than compliments just now.”
